A Chinese cinnabar red lacquer box, 20th century
rectangular, the loose cover carved with a maiden and an attendant holding a fan in a balustraded garden with mountains in the distance, enclosed by a fretwork border, the interior in blue enamel, the sides with fretwork panels interspersed with flowerheads, the base carved with flowerheads, 15,4cm wide; and another, smaller, the cover carved with four children and a scholar before pavilions, the sides with fretwork interspersed with flowerheads, black lacquer interior, 13cm wide
