About this Item
A Japanese carved giltwood standing figure, Edo period, 18th/19th century
with serene expression, with an urna on his forehead, elongated earlobes, dressed in flowing robes, standing on a lotus pedestal supported on a carved stepped four-tiered mount, with a mandorla to the back, the black lacquered case with metal mounts, raised on a petal-shaped base, some loss to one hand, the case 32,5cm high; and two further examples, smaller, repair, one signed with a three-character red lacquer mark, the smaller the case 12cm high
