Austrian Hungarian enamel and gem-set corsage, 19th century
designed as a two-handled vase enamelled in blue and white with a pair of birds perched on the handles viewing a flower display of blooms set with emeralds, seed pearls, rubies and iolite, a small butterfly en tremblant, the vase enhanced with swags of flowers set with rubies, emeralds and seed-pearls, suspending foliate drops with pink enamel terminals, fitted with a foliate bale, some damage to the enamels and some stone loss, height approximately 120mm
