A Japanese Imari wine cup, Edo period, 1603-1867
the interior decorated with a double-ring border enclosing a small spray of chrysanthemums, the reverse decorated with two geisha amongst flowering blooms before a blue ground each with a panel above, one enclosing a butterfly, the other a bird, raised on a low foot, hairline crack, 9,3cm high
