About this Item
A pair of Japanese Imari dishes, Meiji period, 1868-1912
each square-shaped dish with incurved corners, the centre decorated with sprays of flowers enclosed by four medallions within diaper borders, sienna-glazed rim, the reverse with four rondels decorated with peonies, minor fritting chips, underglaze-blue four-character mark, 14,2cm square; and a set of three Japanese Imari dishes, Meiji period, 1868-1912, each decorated to the centre with a vase issuing sprays of blooms enclosed by three foliate-shaped medallions painted with Dutch men enclosed by waves and three galleons, further enclosed by a foliate border, the reverse with scrolls and tendrils, 17cm diameter
