A pair of Japanese Satsuma vases, Meiji period, 1868-1912
each baluster body decorated with Arhats and a scaly dragon, the neck decorated with stylised clouds and the sides applied with elephant-mask handles, with everted lip, one example withgilt three-character mark in a rectangular cartouche against a brown ground, minor firing faults, 15,6cm high
