A Japanese ivory okimono of a geisha, Meiji period, 1868-1912
the barefooted dancing figure holding a fan in her left hand, with raised right knee, with smiling expression, her hair coiffed in a chignon, her flowing kimono finely carved with various blooms and cell-diaper pattern, lacking one thumb, 8,8cm high; and a Japanese ivory okimono of a drunken figure, Meiji period, 1868-1912, the barefooted jolly figure seated cross-legged holding a double gourd in his right hand pouring sake into a wine cup, his tunic and trousers finely carved with flowerhead and geometric patterns, with a basket to his right, chips, 6cm high
