A Japanese ivory carving of the 'clam's dream', Meiji period, 1868-1912
carved with a performing monkey entertainer viewed by a small boy, a figure proffering a basket and another seated with outstretched arms below a tree, signed, 7cm wide; a Chinese carved ivory tusk vase, Qing Dynasty, 19th century, carved with a continuous scene of figures at various pursuits amongst dwellings and trees against a quatrefoil pierced ground, some staining, minor loss, 8,5cm high; a Chinese ivory box and cover, Qing Dynasty, 18th/19th century, circular, the cover carved with two figures in conversation amongst trees, with a further figure observing from within a pagoda, with dot border, the sides carved as a continuous scene of dwellings and trees, the base carved with a flowerhead and leaves against a diaper ground, 2,7cm high; and another, Qing Dynasty, 19th century, oval, the cover carved with two figures in conversation in a boat, a figure observing them from a pagoda and a further two in conversation, enclosed by a simulated bamboo rim and foliate border, 3,9cm high
