A Chinese blue and white tea bowl and saucer, Qing Dynasty, Kangxi period, 1662-1772
the centre painted with a peony bloom enclosed by double blue-lines, the double moulded sides painted with four sprays of peony blooms below a diaper border, petal-shaped rim, the reverse painted with four birds in flight and butterflies amongst blooms and scrolling foliage, the base with a hare within a double blue-line border, the saucer painted to the centre with a pair of birds in flight and a pair of butterflies amongst peony blooms enclosed by double blue-lines, with conforming moulded cavetto and border, petal-shaped rim, the reverse with three sprays of flowerheads, the base with a hare and a moon enclosed by a double blue-line, minor chips, minor hairline cracks,the saucer 12,2cm diameter; a near pair of Chinese blue and white tea bowls, Qing Dynasty, Qianlong period, 1736-1795, each with a diaper band to the interior, sienna-glazed rim, the exterior painted with three sprays of flowerheads, raised on a low foot, minor chips, 4,3cm high; two Chinese 'Imari' tea bowls, Qing Dynasty, 18th century, one decorated to the centre with sprays of blossom enclosed by a blue-line border, gilt rim, the reverse profusely decorated with foliage and flowerheads, the other decorated to the centre with a figure holding a fan within a balustraded garden enclosed by a double blue-line border, petal-shaped sienna-glazed rim, the moulded sides decorated with six alternating panels enclosing a little boy at play and a figure holding a fan, raised on a low foot, minor chips, the taller 4,2cm high; and a near pair of Chinese 'Imari' lustre café au lait tea bowls, Qing Dynasty, 18th century, each centred by a little boy at play amongst blooms, the border enclosed by eight panels alternating with blooms and little boys below a diaper band, the exterior and rim with café au lait glaze, raised on a low foot, restoration to one example, 4,1cm high
