About this Item
His 2009 release of old-vine, single-vineyard wines was a ground-breaking initiative in reviving forgotten, century-old vineyards. The first vintages of Skurfberg, Kokerboom, Pofadder and T'Voetpad along with the once-off Eselshoek and legendary Mev. Kirsten are the rarest modern South African wines. This collectors' case is magnificently presented with labels done by William Kentridge. The case consists of 1 x 375ml and 5 x 750ml bottles.

Critics Ratings
Skurfberg - 'Chenin Blanc. Exciting integrity even if not the cleanest bottle. Great honeyed and lime depth with some golden syrup but bone-dry finish and great tension. Very particular flavours not encountered anywhere else. Herbal. Camomile tisane.' - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 18/20 (Jun 2014)
Kokerboom - 'Sémillon. Broad and liquorice nose. Honeyed and with broom-blossom aromas. Much more delicate and racy than most Cape Sémillon. Long and vibrato. Really artisanal wine. Edge of citrus.' - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17.5/20 (Jun 2014)
Pofadder - 'Very well behaved and deep flavoured. Sinewy and chewy. Lovely stuff with spice and paprika. Great energy and integrity. Long.' - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17.5/20 (Jun 2014)
Mev Kirsten - 'Chenin Blanc. Meat and two veg on the nose with a bit of finesse. Racy stuff. Quinine.' - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Jun 2014)
