About this Item
Ken Forrester Wines was established in the early 1990s after Johannesburg resident and restauranteur, Ken Forrester fell in love with this Stellenbosch property. Together with Martin Meinert, they audaciously created a flagship Chenin Blanc called FMC (Forrester, Meinert Chenin). Sourced from vines planted in 1967, it set the world benchmark for New World Chenin and started SA’s Chenin revolution.
From one of the finest modern-day vintages, the 2009 remains fresh and opulent today, as one of the finest expressions of Chenin Blanc South Africa has ever produced.

'Emphatic, unequivocal, individual; not for the faint-hearted! Sensational 2009 old gold in colour & character: a rich melange of leesy textures, round citrus fruit & glossy oak all brushed with botrytis, drawn together in a not-quite-dry tail. WO Stellenbosch.' - Platter's SA Wine Guide 2012, 4.5*
Ripe and lush, with delicious creamed pear, ginger, heather and fig kept honest by fresh acidity that's well-embedded on the toasty finish. This really stretches out in the glass too, with pear eau-de-vie and hazelnut oil notes lingering on the finish. Gorgeous. – Wine Spectator 92/100 (2011)
