About this Item
Tenute Silvio Nardi is a joint estate made up of two properties – Casale del Bosco in the east of Montalcino and Manachiara to the west. Stretching over 80-hectares, with 36 vineyards combined, in the Brunello region, Silvio Nardi purchased Casale del Bosco in 1950, followed by Manachiara twelve years later. Since 1990, Silvio Nardi’s youngest daughter, Emilia, has been making the estate’s wines. She is a eminent figure in Brunello and considered one of the most respected women in the world of wine. Silvio Nardi produces fine, profound Brunellos that showcase the specific terroir of the unique plots in which they are grown.

Critics Ratings
‘The 2004 Brunello di Montalcino Vigneto Manachiara is the richest and darkest of these wines. This too is a fairly intense, fruit-driven style of Brunello that can be enjoyed for the integrity of its gorgeous black fruit or cellared. Today the wine displays exceptional harmony and balance, with a long, polished finish.’ - Antonio Galloni, Vinous, 92/100 (Jun 2009)
‘This vineyard-select Brunello is tight and bright with an attractive mineral component that rides behind overt aromas of cherry, cola and white chocolate. The mouthfeel is characterized by a smoky-mesquite note and the wine is very persistent in the mouth.’ - Wine Enthusiast, 91/100 (Jun 2009)
