About this Item
In 1962, Ridge made its first Monte Bello, and two years later its first zinfandel. Since that time, Ridge has championed single-vineyard winemaking, searching California for those rare and exceptional vineyards where climate, soil, and variety are ideally matched. For more than six decades, Ridge has been recognized by top critics, chefs and peers for consistent quality and steadfast approach to winemaking. Ridge is the largest farmer of organically certified grapes in Sonoma County and the Santa Cruz Mountains Appellation.
Ridge Vineyards' Lytton Springs is another highly acclaimed wine, celebrated for its expression of Sonoma County's unique terroir and its consistent quality. This wine is a Zinfandel-based field blend, sourced from the historic Lytton Springs Vineyard in the Dry Creek Valley of Sonoma County.

Critics Ratings
‘Made from 70% Zinfandel, 17% Petit Verdot and the rest Carignan and Mataro, the 1999 Lytton Springs is a gorgeous wine that's a testament to the ageability of the Zinfandels made at this estate. Supple, sexy, and ready to go with lots of blackberry, cedary spice and truffle, it's medium to full-bodied, has ample mid-palate fruit and a seamless, silky texture. It's drinking at point and not going to get any better, but it should have no problems holding nicely going forward either.’ – Jeb Dunnuck, 92/100
‘Nice balance of age and freshness to the aromatics – a lovely perfume with an underlying savoury beef reduction. Dark fruits and tobacco accents move through the palate with plenty of tannins, though fine-grained and lengthy.’ Elaine Chukan Brown, jancisrobinson.com, 17.5/20 (Mar 2019)
‘Starts out with an earthy, gamy, leathery character, then pulls itself together, offering ripe cherry, plum and raspberry fruit to complement the earthy components.’ – James Laube, Wine Spectator
