About this Item
With a long history going as far back as the 15th century, Château Suduiraut is found in the commune of Preignac, in Sauternes, and shares a border with Château d'Yquem. In 1855, the estate was classed as a Premier Cru during the official wine classification programme in the Gironde winegrowing area. Since 1992, Suduiraut has been under the same ownership as Château Pichon-Longueville and Château Petit-Village. Inspired by the great Suduiraut wines of the past, the new management has enabled this great vineyard to fulfil its full potential. The estate's 90 hectares of vineyards are planted with 80% Sémillon and 20% Sauvignon Blanc.
The vineyard is situated in the heart of the Sauternes appellation, close to the famous Château d'Yquem.

Critics Ratings
‘Botrytis bomb. Gold color. Loads of spicy, almond and toffee character with pineapple fruit. Full-bodied, very sweet and very, very ripe. Blistering long finish. A bit rustic, but amazing. Can age as long as you like.’ - James Suckling, Wine Spectator, 95/100 (Aug 2000)
‘Light copper color. Extravagant, expressive aromas of tropical fruits, honey, smoked meat and grilled nuts. Thick, sweet and glyceral in the mouth (15.3% alcohol), at once honeyed and tangy. Very long and very youthful on the aftertaste. Offers considerable potential.’ - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous.com, 92+/100, Jul 1998
