LEEU PASSANT | THE REWARD OF PATIENCE | Leeu Passant Dry Red 2016, 2017, 2018:
This incredible wine is a heritage blend from some of South Africa’s oldest registered vineyards, having received as high as 96 from both Tim Atkin MW and Jamie Goode respectively. The Leeu Passant winery honours the Cape’s vinous history dating back to the 17th century and these wines share many elements of the great wines produced in the Cape in the 1900’s, reconstructed in a modern, minimalist way while respecting the timelessness of tradition. They will reward greatly if cellared optimally over the next few decades.

The wines in the Single Terroir range truly encapsulate the Mullineux’s long-term goal of respecting and expressing the unique terroirs of the Swartland and each vintage in this vertical collection has been awarded 5-stars in Platter's, with both the 2016 and 2018 also having achieved an incredible 97 points from Tim Atkin MW. These wines are only bottled in the vintages that we believe encapsulate the most classic and consistent expressions of the Swartland with balance and class and they therefore also have phenomenal ageing potential.
