About this Item
“It’s that whole creative part of winemaking that excites me. Being able to take something in nature and then transform it into something beautiful.” - Gottfried Mocke
100% Chardonnay
The Chardonnay grapes were sourced from a small parcel on decomposed granite. Hand-sorted and whole bunch pressed. The juice settled naturally and racked into a small Burgundian barrique where fermentation began spontaneously. Light bâttonage was performed throughout the 14 months of élevage.
Tasting Notes: The nose shows an inviting array of intense citrus aromas, yellow fruits, angelica and undertones of nutmeg, ginger and gently toasted oak. The palate is very focused, smooth and creamy.
Ready for drinking in 2023 and until 2027.
