About this Item
Château Prieurs de la Commanderie is a small 750 case production from the stable of Château Fayat. Having created their fortune in public works, the family invested millions of euros in their Châteaux (La Dominique in Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classé next to Ch. Cheval Blanc, Château Fayat in Pomerol and Château Clément Pichon in AOP Haut Médoc). The vineyard of Château Prieurs de la Commanderie was already the grouping of 12 plots located in the northwest of the appellation, acquired by Clément Fayat in 1984.
Prieurs de la Commanderie boasts a rich winemaking heritage that potentially spans several generations, imbuing their wines with a depth of tradition and expertise. The time-honored techniques passed down through the years play a pivotal role in crafting wines of exceptional distinctiveness and quality. Moreover, their commitment to producing wines in limited quantities, whether due to the modest size of their vineyards or a deliberate choice to maintain superior quality through controlled yields, enhances the exclusivity and allure of their offerings.

Critics Ratings
‘Produced by the winemaking team of Château la Dominique in Saint-Émilion, this bijou production wine is richly endowed both with tannins and black fruits. It has a perfumed touch as well as full, generous berry flavors and succulent acidity. Drink from 2022.’ – Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 93/100 (Dec 2018)
