About this Item
Cape Point Vineyards is an award-winning wine estate nestled between the fynbos, vineyards and the Atlantic ocean in Noordhoek, Western Cape. On the white wine front, Wine Spectator seems to agree with Neal Martin that Cape Point Vineyards is the go-to address for top Sauvignon Blanc. Their serious Sauvignons are up there with the finest whites in the country, displaying focus, minerality, tension and depth.
Produced from vineyards established by Rosa Kruger, the Cape Point Vineyards Isliedh is sourced from south-facing vineyards situated high on the Cape Point peninsula overlooking Noordhoek. This harsh, marginal climate is prefect for the production of characterful wines and is responsible for one of SA’s finest white wines. A blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, it is an age-worthy, multiple award-winning South African benchmark. For a wine of this quality and pedigree, it is incredible value.

Critics Ratings
‘Regal, understated stature of 2014 sauvignon-semillon barrel-fermented classic demands respect. Intricately structured, weaving spices, beeswax & subtle floral notes into creamy, lees-rich platform. Still taut - needs cellar time.’ - Platter's SA Wine Guide 2016, 4.5*
‘Very pale. Lively and smoky. Light cloves and oak. For the long term. Chalky.’ – Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16++/20 (Sep 2015)
‘The 2014 release of this outstanding Bordeaux blend is well up to its predecessors, confirming its status as one of the Cape’s best whites. With grip, presence and a tannic edge that comes from the windiness of the site, it’s sensitively oaked and multi-layered showing notes of sea salt, pear and gooseberry and intense minerality. Drink: 2015-20’ - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2015, 95/100
