About this Item
Reyneke is one of 5 Stellenbosch properties to get First Growth status in Tim Atkin's 2017 SA Report. Reyneke farm began in 1863 when it was then named 'Uitzicht', meaning 'view'. It is located overlooking Stellenbosch and False Bay with north, south and east facing slopes. Reyneke is certified organic and biodynamic and follows sustainable practices in everything they do. 'Their wines demonstrate the care they take, not infallible wines, rather honest and personality-driven wines that are distinctive, as much cerebral as sensory experiences,' says Neal Martin.
Producer Notes: 'The Reserve range consists of wines that we only produce in very special vintages. These wines are typically made from small pockets of grapes from our very best vineyard sites. The maturity of the vineyards is reflected in the depth, elegance and structure of this range. As we wait only on extraordinary vintages to make this range, limited quantities of these ultra premium wines are made available. Our Reserve wines are vegan – friendly, organic (Eco certified and Demeter certified).'

Critics Ratings
‘Firmly established as one of the Cape’s best Syrahs, this is like walking through a Mediterranean wilderness, with notes of lavender, fennel and rosemary that segue into a rich, dense, powerful palate that’s inky, serious and almost austere, with firm tannins, sweet oak and remarkable length. 2019-28’ - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2017, 96/100
‘2014, like 2013 (4.5 stars, 93 pts), is 100% syrah/shiraz & mirrors its flourish of deep & heady dark spice. The savoury flavours are equally penetrating, but full textural richness needs much longer to emerge from its stern tannic barricade. Worth the wait!’ - Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2017, 5*
