About this Item
Cave Cuilleron is, above all, a family estate. Established in 1920 by Claude Cuilleron, Yves’ grandfather, a passion for wine has been in the family’s genes for three generations. The domaine stands out thanks to its advanced viticulture practices and bespoke winemaking. Within 10 years of taking over from his uncle in 1987, Yves Cuilleron established himself as ‘one of the leading lights of France’s Northern Rhône region’ according to Jamie Goode. He has grown the estate considerably and is a prominent producer in Condrieu. While he is an advocate for modernity, his wines manage to walk the fine line between traditional and the new-wave.
Condrieu is an appellation renowned for its white wines made exclusively from the Viognier grape variety. Les Chaillets is one of the premier vineyard sites within the Condrieu appellation, known for its granite soils and steep slopes, which contribute to the complexity and minerality of the wines produced there.

Critics Ratings
‘Pronounced apricot fruit, very focused and well judged butter and cream that leads through on the finish – this a very gourmet wine, from fresh fruit starter to a creamy main to a tropical spiced finish, it’s the vinous equivalent of a three-course meal.’ - Richard Hemming MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Dec 2008)
‘This is really juicy, with a nicely packed core of anise, damson plum, yellow apple and heather honey notes backed by a long, pure, minerally finish. Drink now through 2013.’ - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 93/100
‘Yellow-gold. Strikingly complex bouquet of smoky pit fruits and flowers. Spicy peach and poached pear flavors coat the palate and are tightened by lime zest and dusty minerals. Becomes more floral with air, finishing with clinging spice and honeysuckle nuances. Pretty suave stuff.’ - Josh Raynolds, Vinous, 92/100 (Jan 2009)
