About this Item
Château Marjosse is a wine estate in the Entre-deux-Mers region of Bordeaux. Its signature wine is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Muscadelle, but it also makes red wines from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. In keeping with the region, red wines produced at the estate carry the broader Bordeaux AOC title, although these wines equal the white wine in production volume. Château Marjosse is known for producing high-quality wines under the guidance of its owner and winemaker, Pierre Lurton. Lurton is also the manager of prestigious estates such as Château Cheval Blanc and Château d'Yquem, bringing his expertise and dedication to Château Marjosse. Despite its association with Lurton and its quality, Château Marjosse wines often provide good value for money compared to some other Bordeaux estates. This makes them accessible to a broader range of wine enthusiasts.
The Bordeaux Blanc from Marjosse is a white wine made from a blend of traditional Bordeaux grape varieties, which typically include Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and sometimes a small proportion of Muscadelle. These grapes are sourced from vineyards on the estate's property.

Critics Ratings
‘A touch smokily reductive on the nose, giving it a flinty note, and marked by the Sauvignon – herbal aromas. Very dry, crisp, herbal character. Slightly grippy, very fresh without great depth of fruit. Strong grapefruit thiol character. A distinctive style that highlights stony grapefruit pith rather than lush fruit.’ - Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5/20 (March 2019)
‘This wine has a spicy side, offering touches of caraway seed and pepper. Its tangy character and herbal flavors need to soften a little.' - Wine Enthusiast
