Critics Ratings
‘(85% tempranillo, 10% graciano, 3% garnacha and 2% "others") Vivid ruby. Flamboyant aromas of candied red fruits, incense and spicecake, with slow-building floral and mineral qualities. Silky in texture and deep in sweet raspberry and cherry flavors, picking up a zesty blood orange note with aeration. Very precise, with outstanding clarity to its spicy, tenacious finish. Definitely put this one away.’ - Josh Raynolds, Vinous, 93/100 ( Nov 2010)
‘The one red offering is the 2005 Fincas de Ganuza Reserva made up of 85% Tempranillo with the balance Graciano, Garnacha, and “other”. After 12 months of resting in tank, it was moved into barriques, 50% new, for another 25 months before bottling without fining or filtration. This dense purple-colored effort gives up aromas of pain grille, mineral, Asian spices, leather, and assorted black fruits. Big and structured on the palate in the style of the vintage, it will reward another 5-7 years of cellaring and deliver prime drinking from 2016 to 2025.’ - Jay S Miller, Wine Advocate, 93/100
