About this Item
Compañía Bodeguera Valenciso is a boutique winery located in the heart of the Rioja Alta region in Spain. Founded in 1998 by Luis Valentin and Carmen Enciso, the winery is dedicated to producing limited quantities of high-quality, terroir-driven wines that showcase the essence of Rioja. It was highly regarded by Robert Parker with its powerful, modern style. The winery's vineyards, situated in the Rioja Alta, are primarily planted with Tempranillo grapes. Valenciso's meticulous approach to winemaking, including long aging in French oak barrels, results in wines that are powerful, elegant, and age-worthy.
.
The Valenciso Reserva is one of the flagship wines of the estate, made from a blend of Tempranillo and a small proportion of Graciano grapes sourced from old vines in the Rioja Alta region.

Critics Ratings
‘The 2006 Reserva has a classic, very pure bouquet of warm leather, dried herbs and dark berry fruit, and it offers scents of melted tar with continued aeration. The palate is very harmonious with succulent red cherries, mulberry and dried fig, with subtle white pepper notes sprinkled over the finish. This constitutes a worthy follow-up to the superb 2005 and will have the same propensity to age. Drink now-2025.’ - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 93/100
‘Ruby-red. Sexy, floral-accented aromas of redcurrant and cherry, with cola and cedary oak notes adding complexity. Supple and seamless on the palate, distinguished by sweet red fruit flavors and a deeper note of licorice. Finishes on a smoky note, with very good energy and lift.’ -Josh Raynolds, Vinous, 90/100 (Sep 2012)
