About this Item

2014 1er Cru Savigny-les-Beaune Les Lavières
2 ( 1 x 2) 750ml

Bouchard Père et Fils is a sizable and historic Burgundy wine estate, based in Beaune. The largest vineyard owner in the Côte d'Or, it produces more than 100 wines mostly made from Pinot Noir or Chardonnay, in a range that also includes appellations in the Maconnais, Côte Chalonnaise and Beaujolais regions.

Bouchard Père et Fils is one of the oldest wine estates in Burgundy, founded in 1731. In 1995 it was sold to Joseph Henriot, and became part of Groupe La Vigie along with major brands like Champagne Henriot and Chablis' William Fèvre. Bouchard Père et Fils should not be confused with Bouchard Aîné et Fils, which is owned by Boisset.

Savigny-lès-Beaune is located in the Côte de Beaune sub region of Burgundy and is celebrated for its elegant and approachable Pinot Noir wines. Les Lavières is a premier cru vineyard within the Savigny-lès-Beaune appellation, known for producing wines of finesse and complexity.

Critics Ratings

‘Grown on rocky subsoil, this ripe and fruity wine has good acidity and plenty of black-cherry fruit. A darker core of tannins gives the wine a rich texture. With open fruits and plenty of acidity, the wine is developing well. Drink from 2019.’ - Wine Enthusiast, 92/100

‘This too possesses enough wood and menthol to fight a bit with the more elegant and equally ripe dark berry liqueur, earth and cassis aromas. The opulent, round and very suave middle weight flavors possess both good volume and solid mid-palate density before culminating in a relatively refined if slightly austere finish that offers very good depth as well as fine length. This is also going to require at least moderate patience.’ - Allen Meadows, Burghound, 90-92/100 (April 2016)

‘Macerated cherry, raspberry, wild herb and earth notes are matched by a supple texture, lively acidity and a dense matrix of tannins. All the components are here, but this will need a few years to knit together. Shows fine balance and intensity. Best from 2019 through 2027’ - Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator, 91/100
