About this Item

2014 Chablis 1er Cru Côte de Léchet
2 (1 x 2) 750ml

Daniel Dampt & Fils is a family-owned winery located in the Chablis region of Burgundy, France. The estate is known for producing high-quality Chardonnay wines that reflect the unique terroir of Chablis. The Dampt family has been involved in winemaking for several generations, with Daniel Dampt being the current head of the estate. The domaine's vineyards are primarily located on the famous Kimmeridgian limestone soils that are characteristic of the Chablis region. These soils impart distinct mineral qualities to the wines, contributing to their complexity and character.

Chablis 1er Cru Côte de Léchet is a premier cru vineyard within the Chablis appellation, renowned for producing wines of exceptional quality and complexity. The 2014 vintage in Chablis was characterized by favorable weather conditions, resulting in wines with excellent concentration and balance.

Critics Ratings

‘Floral, juicy fruit with more pith and breadth than their Les Lys. Finishes with a slaty bite.’ - Richard Hemming MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Jan 2016)

‘This is aromatically more restrained than the Les Lys as it presently only grudgingly reveals shy scents of iodine, mineral reduction, grapefruit and discreet floral nuances. There is both good volume and punch to the delicious and intensely stony middle weight flavors that possess fine depth and even better length on the notably dry finale. This will need a few years to flesh out but there is excellent potential.’ - Allen Meadows, Burghound, 92/100 (Oct 2015)

‘The 2014 Chablis 1er Cru Côte de Léchet has a reserved, stony nose with hints of nectarine and even buttered toast, though subtle enough to allow the mineralité to shine through. The palate is fresh and poised with a shard of bitter lemon on the penetrating entry. I like the energy and tension here, with impressive precision on the finish. This is a well-crafted Côte de Léchet that should drink well for 6 to 8 years.’ - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 90/100
