2005 - ‘This is quite ripe though by no means surmature with plenty of earth, cassis and spicy plum aromas. The big, bold and ultra-intense broad-shouldered flavors are very Pommard in character with superb concentration on the mouth coating and very structured finish. This is definitely fashioned in a "take no prisoners" style and even after 8 years of age is no where close to being ready, indeed it is borderline hard though there is so much fruit and dry extract that it is a matter of having plenty of patience. In fact, I would not be at all surprised if my suggested drinking window is found to be optimistic by 5 years or so.’- Allen Meadows, Burghound (Sep 2013)
2007 - 'This too is really quite pretty with cool, airy and almost wispy earth and underbrush nuanced red berry fruit aromas that are relatively high-toned while introducing delicious, intense, detailed and supple medium-bodied flavors that carry a very subtle touch of backend minerality on the round and sweet finish that is underpinned by tannins that are unusually fine. A Pommard of finesse.’ - Allen Meadows, Burghound (April 2009)
2008 - 'Reticent red cherry fruit. On the palate, so energetic. Fine framework and a lightness of touch while retaining Pommard’s traditional firmness.’ - Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5/20 (Jan 2010)
‘(this actually comes from the premier cru Les Combes) Medium red. Good lift and precision to the redcurrant and spice aromas. With its pure raspberry flavor and nicely restrained sweetness, this is more Volnay than Pommard in character. D'Angerville notes that with its light extraction (just 12 to 15 days on the skins), this is actually vinified like a Volnay. Nicely ripe on the back end.’ - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous (March 2010)
‘This is really quite pretty with an airy and pure nose of primarily red fruits, earth and a hint of the sauvage that is also picked up by the round, supple and utterly delicious medium-bodied flavors that display a hint of stone on the precise, linear and intense finish.’ - Allen Meadows, Burghound (April 2010)
2010 - 'This is also quite pretty with pure and very fresh high-toned red pinot fruit that is cut with plenty of earth influence plus an attractive hint of wet stone. There is good detail to the relatively fine middle weight flavors that possess good verve on the firm, dusty and ever-so mildly austere finish.' - Allen Meadows, Burghound, 91/100 (April 2012)
‘Bright cherry red. Hidden nose with some real texture here. Marked acidity and less obviously tannic than many Pommards. Wait!’ - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5/20 (March 2012)
