About this Item

2009 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaumonts
1 (1 x 1) 750ml

Established in Vougeot in 1962 by Alain Hudelot, Domaine Hudelot-Noellat has quietly risen to the top echelon of Cote de Nuits producers. In 2008, Alain retired and his grandson Charles van Canneyt took over, making wines of great refinement and complexity. They farm sustainably on their 10 ha of vineyards planted across 15 different appellations, spread over the villages of Nuits-Saint-George, Vougeot, Chambolle- Musigny and Vosne-Romane´e. This includes the Grands Crus Romane´e-Saint-Vivant, Richebourg and Clos de Vougeot. Hudelot-Noe¨llat is known for its old vines which average more than 50 years old with several vineyards dating back to 1920. The Hudelot-Noe¨llat wines are always the most elegant in a line-up. Their fresh acidity, deft use of oak and terroir-driven style appeals to the traditional Burgundy-lover seeking long-ageing wines.

Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaumonts is a Premier Cru vineyard situated within the Vosne-Romanée appellation. It is known for producing wines of outstanding quality and complexity, with a distinctive expression of the Vosne-Romanée terroir.

Critics Ratings

‘Pale crimson. Tension and a suggestion of hidden depths on the nose. Firm with lots of beefy fruit in the middle. A bit more like a consommé than a wine..? Attractive nourishment. Burly with sweet fruit on the finish. Transparent expression. No mucking about. No excess sweetness. Quite delicate in fact. Long.’ - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17.5/20 (Jan 2011)

‘The 2009 Vosne-Romanee Les Beaux Monts reveals a pretty, mineral-laced personality. Red cherries, incense and spices are some of the notes that emerge from the glass. High-toned aromas add lift on the finish. This remains a touch compact; with a little more generosity and depth it might merit a higher score. The Beaux Monts is made from two parcels of fairly young vines; 6 and 15 years of age respectively. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024.’ - Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate, 90/100 (May 2011)
