About this Item
Domaine Méo-Camuzet is one of Burgundy’s star properties and is known for its concentrated, rich and serious wines. Until 30 years ago, most of the domaine's vineyards were leased out and the wine was sold to négociants. The domaine only began bottling in 1985 and the various sharecropping agreements, including one with Henri Jayer, have all come to an end. Today, Jean-Nicolas Méo and Christian Faurois, a former sharecropper turned right-hand man, manage the domaine and produce some of the Côte d'Or’s finest wines. The domaine now proudly holds 2.5 hectares of Grands Crus and 8 hectares in some of the finest Premier Cru sites in Nuits-St-Georges and Vosne-Romanée. Most of the vineyards are farmed organically.
The Fixin appellation is located in the northern part of the Côte de Nuits and is recognized for producing wines that showcase the character of Pinot Noir with a balance of fruit, earthiness, and structure. The Méo-Camuzet Fixin 2008 is a wine from a vintage that is often noted for its classic and elegant style.
