About this Item
Beaune 1er Cru Les Deux Terroirs is a premier cru vineyard located in the commune of Beaune, known for producing both red and white wines of exceptional quality. The name "Les Deux Terroirs" translates to "The Two Terroirs," referring to the two distinct soil types found within the vineyard, which contribute to the complexity and character of the wines produced.

‘Lafarge's 2012 Beaune is a blend of fruit from Greve and Aigrots, as the two parcels were too small to vinify separately. Dark and muscular in the glass, the 2012 is laced with black cherry, plum, spice and violets. The wine's structure and intensity are marvelous. Readers will have to be patient, as the 2012 is clearly built for the cellar. Huge tannins frame the intense finish. What a gorgeous wine this is.’ - Antonio Galloni, Vinous, 92-94/100 (Jan 2014)
‘Here too there is sufficient reduction to render the nose difficult to properly assess. There is both lovely detail and a strong mineral character to the delicious and very round middle weight flavors that possess good punch on the mildly austere finish that delivers excellent length.’ - Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 88-91/100 (April 2014)
‘Very attractive lightness of touch with some sweet fruit at the beginning and then the more mineral chewy elements on the finish. Very elegant on the palate. Very successful.’ - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Dec 2013)
‘The 2012 Beaune 1er Cru is a blend of parcels in Greves and Les Aigrots. The Greves vines are 91-years old that Frédéric told me imparts texture, the latter offering the power. The nose is very pure with lifted Morello cherry, strawberry and tea leaf aromas that are very well-defined. “Rocky” is the word that I pen down. The palate is crisp and taut with a silver thread of acidity. It builds nicely in the mouth, leading to quite a dense, yet elegant white pepper-tinged finish that lingers. Very fine.’ - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate
