About this Item
In 1952, Robert Newman started buying Grand Cru parcels in Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny, forming the Beaune-based Domaine Newman. The organically farmed property was run by full-spirited Chris Newman along with minimal interventionist winemaking by high-flying Jane Eyre, produced quintessential Burgundy for many decades. The Domaine then focused on the Côte de Beaune with a little over 5 hectares of vines. It’s a very discreet operation from a super base on the Boulevard of Beaune. Domaine Newman was recently sold and the wines are now extremely rare.
Newman is a micro-négociant located in Burgundy, France, known for producing limited quantities of high-quality wines sourced from select vineyards in the region. The Beaune 1er Cru "Clos des Avaux" is one of the notable wines from their portfolio. A wine of finesse and elegance, showcasing the characteristics of both the terroir and the exceptional 2015 vintage, and providing a delightful drinking experience.
