About this Item
Established in Vougeot in 1962 by Alain Hudelot, Domaine Hudelot-Noellat has quietly risen to the top echelon of Cote de Nuits producers. In 2008, Alain retired and his grandson Charles van Canneyt took over, making wines of great refinement and complexity. They farm sustainably on their 10 ha of vineyards planted across 15 different appellations, spread over the villages of Nuits-Saint-George, Vougeot, Chambolle- Musigny and Vosne-Romane´e. This includes the Grands Crus Romane´e-Saint-Vivant, Richebourg and Clos de Vougeot. Hudelot-Noe¨llat is known for its old vines which average more than 50 years old with several vineyards dating back to 1920. The Hudelot-Noe¨llat wines are always the most elegant in a line-up. Their fresh acidity, deft use of oak and terroir-driven style appeals to the traditional Burgundy-lover seeking long-ageing wines.
The Clos de Vougeot vineyard is one of the most renowned Grand Cru sites in Burgundy, situated in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. This historic vineyard covers approximately 50 hectares and is known for producing complex, age-worthy Pinot Noir wines.

Critics Ratings
‘Luscious and silky, with complex flavors of black cherry, plum, sweet wood smoke, licorice and bacon. Powerful and persistent, this delivers terrific balance and a lingering aftertaste of spice and mineral notes.' - Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator, 95/100 (May 2012)
'The 2009 Clos de Vougeot is impressive. Fresh, floral aromatics meld into a core of silky red fruit. The Clos de Vougeot tannins are there, but beautifully balanced by the textured, persistent fruit. The finish is feminine, persistent and impeccable in its elegance. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2029.’ - Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate, 91/100 (May 2011)
‘Light crimson. Relatively light nose. Lots of bright fruit. Kept in check with some grand cru subtlety and intensity. Still quite painful to taste at this early stage but clearly there is lots of potential here.’ - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 18/20 (Jan 2012)
