About this Item
The Feraud family of Domaine Feraud has their history in winemaking dating back to 1670. In 1964, Paul Feraud began producing and selling his own wine, but it was his daughter, Laurence, who convinced him to create an independent family estate which was founded in 1987 and named Domaine du Pegau. Pegau is considered one of the best estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and their traditional-styled wines are considered some of the best in the world.
Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Da Capo is one of the flagship wines of Domaine du Pegau. It is crafted only in exceptional vintages and represents the pinnacle of quality and expression from the estate. The name "Da Capo" translates to "from the top" or "encore" in Italian, signifying the exceptional nature of this cuvée.

Critics Ratings
‘Comprised of roughly 85% Grenache and the rest Syrah and other permitted varieties, aged all in foudre, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee da Capo is sheer perfection in a glass. Wine doesn’t get any better. Incredibly rich and concentrated, yet ethereal and even graceful, it boasts off-the-hook aromas of blackberry, licorice, spice-box, smoked meats and underbrush that continue to change and develop in the glass. Massive and decadent on the palate, yet again, with no weight and a seamless texture, this brilliant effort needs a handful of years in the cellar and will live to see its 30th birthday in fine form. Drink 2016-2040.’ - Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, 100/100
‘Heady and loaded, but defined, with stunning depth and intensity to the pastis-soaked plum, blackberry and cherry fruit flavors, lined with brick dust, baker's chocolate, espresso and smoldering tobacco. Long and tarry through the finish, but lush and alluring at the same time. A backdrop of chestnut and cedar adds even more range and character. A huge wine with amazing balance. Best from 2015 through 2035.’ - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 98/100
‘Extremely sweet and lively. Racy, dense, notable tannins, extremely vivacious. Long and very rich indeed, even though the residual sugar is actually less than 1 g/l apparently. A loud wine.’ - Jancis Robinson, jancisrobinson.com, 18.5/20 (Dec 2011)
