About this Item
The Feraud family of Domaine Feraud has their history in winemaking dating back to 1670. In 1964, Paul Feraud began producing and selling his own wine, but it was his daughter, Laurence, who convinced him to create an independent family estate which was founded in 1987 and named Domaine du Pegau. Pegau is considered one of the best estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and their traditional-styled wines are considered some of the best in the world.
Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Laurence is one of the special cuvées produced by Domaine du Pegau. It is named after Laurence Féraud, who represents the fifth generation of winemakers at the estate. This cuvée is made from a selection of the estate's best parcels and is crafted with meticulous attention to detail.

'Starting off the reds and easily the best example of this cuvee since the 2001, the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Laurence is incredible stuff. Deep, rich and layered, with copious notions of smoked meats, licorice, ground pepper, spice and saddle leather, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, terrific fruit intensity and a rich, mouth-coating texture. Hard to resist now, it should nevertheless have two decades of longevity. Drink now-2029.’ - Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, 98/100
‘Dark and ripe, with blackberry, plum and fig fruit layered with notes of ganache, charcoal and dark olive. This cuts a broad, smoky path through the finish, offering some slightly chewy grip and ample flesh. A lovely lingering bay leaf hint adds extra nuance. Impressive, though a touch drier in feel than the Cuvée Réservée in this vintage. Best from 2015 through 2030.’ - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 94/100
'Brilliant ruby. A wild, highly perfumed bouquet evokes candied dark berries, smoky minerals and licorice, with a sexy floral note emerging with air. Sappy, penetrating and sweet on the palate, offering intense black raspberry and lavender pastille flavors that put on weight with air. Shows surprising vivacity for a hot-year wine and finishes spicy, focused and very long, leaving a note of spicecake behind.’ - Josh Raynolds, Vinous, 94/100 (Feb 2015)
