About this Item
Maxime Graillot, Alain Graillot’s son, started his own domaine, Domaine des Lises, in 2003. He transformed the newly purchased vineyards, located in Beaumont Monteux, on the appellation Crozes-Hermitage, and increased planting density by 200%. In 2008, Maxime took over the running of Domaine Alain Graillot from his father. A generational change at any domaine, not least the formidable Alain Graillot, can be daunting. Thankfully, a string of excellent vintages proved that the Graillot dynasty is safe in Maxime’s hands.
The vineyard spans 6.5 hectares and is home to thirty year-old vines, which grow in free-draining gravel soils. Situated southeast of the Graillot headquarters, known as Les Chenes Verts, Domaine des Lises crafts wines that capture the essence of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation.

Critics Ratings
‘Saturated ruby. High-pitched red berry and floral scents, along with notes of black pepper and minerals. Juicy and seamless on the palate, offering appealingly sweet black raspberry and violet pastille flavors and a touch of licorice. Finishes smooth and long, with subtle tannins and lingering smokiness.’ – Josh Raynolds, Vinous, 90/100 (Mar 2014)
‘The ripe black cherry and loganberry fruit is lined with a tangy iron streak. Shows a kiss of mocha on the finish, with more freshness than overt flesh. Drink now through 2014.’ - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator (Oct 2013)
‘The more serious, round, ripe, richly fruity 2011 Crozes-Hermitage Domaine des Lises is more structured with some of the seductiveness of the Equinoxe traded for more bulk, tannin and density.’ - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (Dec 2012)
