About this Item

2007 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses
1 (1 x 1) 750ml

Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé is one of the most famous producers in Burgundy. Its lineage dates back to the mid-1400s. The Musigny vines themselves were first mentioned in 1528. The family is part of the history of Chambolle-Musigny, where they produce elegant, highly-collectable and long-ageing Pinot Noirs. The estate has around 70% of its land in the Le Musigny Grand Cru vineyard and 2.7 hectares of Bonnes-Mares. Vines are also held in the famous Les Amoureuses Premier Cru vineyard, as well as Les Baudes and Les Fuées. De Vogüé is rare in that it is one of the only domaines in Burgundy that can trace its history so far back in the region's timeline.

The 2007 Comtes Georges de Vogüé Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses is a highly esteemed wine from one of the most revered producers in Burgundy. Les Amoureuses is a premier cru vineyard in Chambolle-Musigny, often considered to produce wines of near - Grand Cru quality due to its exceptional terroir.

Critics Ratings

‘The 2007 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru les Amoureuses from Comte de Vogüé has an intense, upfront and quite bold bouquet of cranberry jus, pomegranate and undergrowth, quite showy in de Vogue's style during this decade. The palate is well balanced and perhaps not the most complex Les Amoureuses that I have encountered, yet there is good structure and plenty of sappy black fruit words the finish. Give this another 3-4 years in bottle.’ – Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 91/100 (Apr 2016)

‘Very bright fruit with an animal hint on the nose. Very round and assertive. Lots of juice and fruit with no shortage of acidity. Still very embryonic. Fine tannins. Very bright and tight with a mineral finish. Certainly not seductive at this stage. Needs lots and lots of time. Very chewy finish but the tannins are precise rather than overly dry or drying. Bright, electric.’ – Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17.5/20 (Jan 2009)

‘Good bright medium red. Musky red fruits and blood orange on the nose. Denser than the village wine, but with its volume leavened by terrific sappy cut. There's a silkiness here but also a citrus zest edge to the red fruit flavors. Comes across as sweeter and more approachable today than the village wine, and longer and more pliant on the aftertaste.’ – Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 91+/100 (Mar 2009)
