About this Item
Arrowood Vineyards and Winery is a Californian producer located in Sonoma Valley. It specializes in a range of single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon wines from some of Sonoma's most famous appellations, including Knights Valley, Alexander Valley and Moon Mountain.
A majority of Arrowood's collection is sourced through long-term growing contracts with the proprietors of some of the top vineyards in Sonoma, including Monte Rosso on Moon Mountain and Smothers-Remick Ridge on Sonoma Mountain amongst others.
The winery and estate vineyard is located at the base of the Mayacamas Mountains in a sheltered, 3 hectare (8 acre) property. This vineyard is planted to Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Viognier.
Arrowood Vineyards was founded in 1986 by Richard and Alis Arrowood and today, is owned by the Jackson Family Wines.
Saralee's Vineyard is located in the Russian River Valley, Sonoma County. This vineyard is known for producing high-quality fruit, particularly for varietals like Syrah, with a cool climate that contributes to the wine's balance and complexity.

Critics Ratings
'Deep ruby-red. Pungent aromas of blackberry, cassis, licorice, maple syrup and eucalyptus. Dense and layered but quite dry on the palate, with blackberry, pepper and mineral flavors. Finishes with big but even tannins and excellent length. The already-small crop was further thinned by pygmy goats, who reduced the crop to 1-1/4 tons per acre.' - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 90/100 (May 2001)
'This wine takes some time to get going—but once it does, look out. The toast and pepper aromas broaden with air, developing blackberry and caramel notes that continue through the flavors. Full-bodied, the flavors continue to evolve in the glass, slowly giving up saddle leather, coffee and chocolate before finishing with touches of mint and anise.' - Wine Enthusiast (Nov 2001)
'I underrated the superb 1998 Syrah Saralee's Vineyard (575 cases of a 98% Syrah/2% Viognier blend) last year, which has put on considerable weight. This seductive Syrah offers a smoky, charcoal, blackberry, and cassis liqueur-scented bouquet with hints of honeysuckle. Full-bodied and long, with fabulous fruit purity, an opulent texture, and sweet tannin, it should drink well for a minimum of 10-12 years.' - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, 90/100 (Dec 2000)
