About this Item

1995 Napa Valley Red
1 (1 x 1) 750ml

Opus One was founded by Baron Philippe de Rothschild, legendary proprietor of Château Mouton Rothschild, and renowned Napa Valley vintner Robert Mondavi. By combining the great winemaking traditions and innovations of both families, the founders’ singular goal was to create an exceptional wine in the heart of Napa Valley. Opus One, like any great work, arose out of passion. Dedicated to uncompromised quality, Opus One’s sole purpose is to express this vision and passionate spirit for generations to come.

The 1995 Opus One Napa Valley Red is an iconic wine produced by the Opus One Winery, a collaboration between Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Robert Mondavi. Opus One is known for creating Bordeaux-style blends that are among the most prestigious in Napa Valley.

Critics Ratings

‘Freshly cut flowers, raspberries, anise and savory herbs jump from the glass in the 1995 Opus One. A beautifully bright, focused wine, the 1995 stands out for its high-toned aromatics and fabulous balance. All the elements are in the right place. This is a distinctly pretty, feminine Opus One that is all about grace. An attractive aromatic lift rounds things out nicely. Stylistically, the 1995 belongs to the wines of similarly high rainfall vintages such as 1986 and 2011. The 1995 is 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot and 2% Malbec.’ - Antonio Galloni, Vinous, 93/100 (Jun 2013)

‘A certain herbaceousness on the nose, though no shortage of ripeness underneath. Tea-leaf aromas. Mineral kick. Round and ready and plump and forward, though tannins insist at the finish. Good acidity. (More than the 1994.) Very good balance.’ - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 18/20 (Sep 2004)
