About this Item
A staple of Lake County for the last nearly 30 years, Steele Winery was founded by veteran winemaker Jed Steele in 1991. The winery has become known for producing a wide variety of wines that showcase the diverse terroirs of Northern California. Jed Steele's extensive experience in the wine industry, particularly with Kendall-Jackson, where he helped create the brand's famous Chardonnay, has greatly influenced the quality and reputation of Steele Wines.
Shannon Family of Wines purchased Steele in 2020 and has continued Jed’s practice of craftsmanship winemaking.
This lot consists of the following wines:
Steele Wines Zinfandel Du Pratt Vineyard 1998 (2 x 750ml)
Steele Wines Zinfandel Pacini Vineyard 1999 (1 x 750ml)
The Du Pratt Vineyard, located in the Mendocino County AVA (American Viticultural Area), is known for producing exceptional Zinfandel grapes. This vineyard benefits from a combination of warm days and cool nights, which is ideal for growing Zinfandel grapes that develop rich, concentrated flavors while retaining good acidity. The vineyard's older vines typically yield grapes with intense and complex flavors.
Zinfandel from Pacini Vineyard is a great example of a well-made, old-vine Zinfandel from California. Steele Wines, founded by winemaker Jed Steele, is known for producing wines that reflect the character of the vineyards they source from, and the Pacini Vineyard is no exception.
