Critics Ratings

Steele Wines Shooting Star Syrah 1999:
'Takes a lot of character from the barrels it was aged in, with butterscotch, caramel and pine notes dominating the juicy grape flavors. Displays a real dichotomy of sweet oak and tart fruit flavors on the finish. Odd, but pretty good if you like the style.'
- Wine Enthusiast (Oct 2001)

'What a deal. Intense and focused California Syrah, showing beefy black cherry, plum and dried berry flavors. Herb, spice, mocha and lead pencil nuances linger on the finish with the round tannins.' - James Laube, Wine Spectator (Oct 2001)
