About this Item

The winery has become known for producing a wide variety of wines that showcase the diverse terroirs of Northern California. Jed Steele's extensive experience in the wine industry, particularly with Kendall-Jackson, where he helped create the brand's famous Chardonnay, has greatly influenced the quality and reputation of Steele Wines.

Critics Ratings
Steele Wines Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard 1998:
'Lively, with a pretty core of spicy cherry, earth, raspberry and cola flavors that offer depth, richness and length. Drink now through 2005' - James Laube, Wine Spectator (Nov 2000)
'A delicious, dark ruby-colored Pinot Noir, Steele's 1998 Bien Nacido Vineyard exhibits copious quantities of red fruits, smoke, and spice. This lush, medium to full-bodied effort reveals no hard edges, and is best consumed over the next 2-3 years.' - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (Dec 2000)
Steele Wines Pinot Noir Sangiacomo Vineyard 1998:
'There's delicious fruit behind the copious wood. The lavish, toasty oak yields a pine-and-dill patina that not everyone will like, but the deep, dark cherry fruit is a solid presence. The tart plum and espresso-tinged close is long, with even tannins. Drink now–2005.' - Wine Enthusiast (Oct 2002)
