About this Item
Dom Pérignon is produced by Moët & Chandon - one of the largest Champagne producers in the world. The name Dom Pérignon comes from a 17th-century monk who developed various winemaking techniques which were used to enhance the quality of wines. Dom Pérignon Champagnes always consist of Pinot noir, Chardonnay, and one other grape variety. The Champagne is always a vintage as each bottle showcases the vintage’s unique characteristics.

Critics Ratings
‘Unquestionably the finest Dom Pérignon of the decade, the 2008 Dom Pérignon is drinking brilliantly today, wafting from the glass with notes of citrus oil, ripe orchard fruit, peach, buttered toast, pastry cream, iodine and smoky reduction. Full-bodied, rich and fleshy, it's vinous and layered, with a deep core of sweet fruit, racy acids and a long, saline finish. The 2008 is aging very gracefully.’ – William Kelley, Wine Advocate, 96/100 (Aug 2022)
‘The 2008 Dom Pérignon is a huge, powerful Champagne and also clearly one of the wines of the vintage. This is one of the most reticent bottles I have tasted. So much so that I am thinking about holding off opening any more bottles! The 2008 has always offered a striking interplay of fruit and structure. Today, the richness of the fruit is especially evident. Readers who own the 2008 should be thrilled, but patience is a must.’ – Antonio Galloni, Vinous, 98/100 (Aug 2021)
‘Really complex nose. Tight and layered. Very much a 2008 with very high acidity but much more undertow and embroidery than the Grande Dame 2008. Still very youthful. I’d be tempted to decant this, almost!’ – Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 18.5++/20 (Jun 2019)
‘Departing chef de cave Richard Geoffroy quite rightly calls 2008 ‘the miracle year'. Perfect ripening allowed the longest ever harvest, with four weeks available to select when, where and what to pick. The result is a magnificently complex and deceptively approachable DP, with wonderful aromatics from the off. On the palate it's very young, with classically sweet and bright citrus and oyster shell notes together with honey and nougat. This is very lithe, supple and long, with fabulous acidity and éclat. Until a couple of years ago the '08 was quite tight, but recently it has really opened up, according to Geoffroy. This can be enjoyed now but will also age effortlessly for many years yet.’ – John Stumpfig, Decanter.com, 98/100 (Nov 2018)
