In her evocative artwork, Cathy Abraham delves into process-based art. Her practice, encompassing film, mixed media, installation, painting, and sculpture, reflects a profound and ethereal exploration of life's repetitive patterns. Abraham’s work begins with small, deliberate marks that gradually expand into larger compositions through systematic repetition. The repeated brushstrokes, which she has termed 'ghosts,' capture the haunting essence of trauma, while the numbered sequences, referencing the Kabbalah, challenge traditional concepts of time and space. Through this melding of past, present, and future, Abraham blurs the boundaries between reality, fantasy, and illusion, inviting viewers to contemplate the intricate rhythms underlying human experience.¹
