Adji Dieye's artistic practice centers on examining individual representations and comprehending the construction of national epistemologies. In her work, she uses archival materials, architecture, and advertising mediums to examine the socio-political structures that continue to shape our globalised world, particularly within formerly colonised regions. She creates cultural 'snapshots' that critically examine potentially conflicting elements, shortcomings, and other elements that become essential in the process of forging a national self-identity and challenges the correlation between our ontological understanding and the paradoxes that appear when crafting a narrative of national progress. ¹
