2 x 1.5 litre bottles of David & Nadia Elpidios 2019

This is the ninth vintage of the red blend from David & Nadia. The Elpidios started as a blend based on Syrah, and for a number of years it was based on Carignan. However, since the 2017 vintage, the aim of producing a Grenache noir (such a Swartland stalwart) based blend became a reality.

The 2019 vintage features 38% Grenache noir, 36% Syrah, 10% Pinotage, 9% Carignan and 7% Cinsaut. A portion of the Grenache noir as well as the Syrah was fermented and matured in concrete vessels and the rest of the wine matured in bigger, neutral French oak barrels as well as a 4 100 litre foudre. The wine was aged in bottle for 18 months before release.

Each bottle is packed in a wooden box.
