Notes

Marincowitz, born in 1968 in Middelburg, Eastern Cape, studied Fine Arts at the Tshwane University of Technology after matriculating from Pro Arte School for Art, Ballet, Music and Drama in 1985. Specialising in painting and jewellery design, she initially worked in the commercial art industry as a set painter for the State Theatre, Cape Town Opera, and various film and television productions.

She has participated in numerous group exhibitions across South Africa and held four solo exhibitions: “Brokkie Nostalgie” in 2009 at Rust-en-Vrede Gallery in Durbanville, “Collective Memory” in 2010 at Brundyn + Gonsalves in Cape Town, “Mnemonic Devices” at GUS Gallery, University of Stellenbosch, and her latest in 2021 at Knysna Fine Art. Her work was featured in The South African Artist Magazine in March 2021, further showcasing her contributions to the art scene.
