Manuela Holzer was born in Johannesburg in 1990. She initially studied at the University of Witwatersrand where she completed her Bachelor in Fine Art in 2012. Thereafter, Manuela moved to the Western Cape to study further and received a Master’s degree in Visual Art from the University of Stellenbosch in 2016. She currently resides in Cape Town and furthers her artistic practice by creating sculptures of the female figure in various media that explore the extreme states of the human psyche. At present, Manuela is also a PhD candidate in Creative Arts Production at the University of Pretoria.
