Nellien Brewer, born in 1961 in Greytown, transitioned from a successful 20-year career as a landscape architect to pursue her passion for art, completing a BVA degree at Unisa in 2011. Her artistic journey has been marked by participation in notable exhibitions and events, including the CIVA Biennial Conference (2011), the Art Meets Africa exhibition in Germany, and the Vera World Fine Art Festival in Lisbon (2015). She received a Judges Special Recognition award at the Vision: An Artist’s Perspective exhibition in San Jose (2016) and showcased her work at the London Art Biennale (2023) and the LA Art Fair (2024).

Brewer has been recognized with several accolades, including multiple placements in the Thami Mnyele Fine Arts Awards and the SASOL New Signatures competition. Most recently, she won the joint first prize at the Vuleka Art Awards in 2023. She is represented by Espace Vision D’Art Gallery in Paris.
