Rick Baloyi, born in Soweto and raised in Tshivhuyuni, Limpopo, is a dynamic full-time artist dedicated to exploring the evolving nature of his artistry. Currently pursuing a BA in Visual Art at the University of Johannesburg, Baloyi is on a journey of self-discovery and artistic growth. He was recognised early in his career with the Arts and Culture Trust|Nedbank|DALRO|Market Theatre Scholarship Award in 2019. His exhibition highlights include participation in the RMB Turbine Art Fair as part of the Talent Unlocked programme and solo shows such as "What is Home to You" at Lizamore & Associates Gallery. With a commitment to questioning the notion of "what's next?" in his work, Baloyi continues to engage with contemporary themes and contribute to South Africa's vibrant art scene.
