Sharon Erichsen is a South African ceramic artist who earned her Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics, summa cum laude, from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) in 2011. She served as a committee member for the KZN Ceramics Association during 2016 and 2017. Sharon's work is characterised by geometric shapes, repetitive marks, and vibrant colours that aim to evoke joy in the viewer. Her ‘Candyland’ series draws inspiration from childhood memories of candy treats, creating pieces that are both playful and nostalgic. She has exhibited widely, including at the Toyota US Woordfees ‘Bubble’ Exhibition (2023), the Hangklip-Kleinmond Ceramics & Porcelain Exhibition (2023), and various exhibitions at the Association of Arts, Pretoria, as well as international venues like Musée La Piscine in Roubaix. Her works are part of notable collections, including the Tatham Art Gallery and the William Humphreys Art Gallery.
