Elfriede Dreyer (b. 1953, Pretoria) is a conceptual, intermedial painter focused on worldmaking constructs that explore themes of utopia, dystopia, and the Anthropocene. As an Extraordinary Professor of Art at Unisa and an NRF-rated academic, she balances her roles as a curator and mentor. Dreyer has exhibited her solo works in esteemed galleries and museums both locally and in France, with her pieces included in public collections at institutions like the University of Pretoria, Unisa, Telkom, DBSA, and FNB, along with numerous private collections.
